REFERRING DOCTORS Refer patients to our office

Orthodontic care does two very important things for our patients at the same time. As orthodontic care corrects the position of the teeth, it not only improves appearance but also function. Our goal at Inspire Orthodontics is to give every patient the opportunity to express themselves with comfort and confidence and enjoy a better quality of life.

Why is orthodontic treatment important?

Crooked and crowded teeth are hard to clean and maintain. A bad bite can also cause abnormal wear of tooth surfaces, difficulty in chewing and/or speaking, and excess stress on supporting bone and gum tissue. In addition to improving oral health, orthodontic treatment can provide the confidence that comes with a healthy, attractive smile for years to come.

When should children get an orthodontic check-up?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children get an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7. By this age, orthodontists can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while baby teeth are still present. That’s important because some orthodontic problems may be easier to correct if they are found early. Your pediatric dentist at Inspire Dental can help determine if your child should see their colleagues at Inspire Orthodontics. Most orthodontic patients begin active treatment between ages 9 and 14.

Can adults benefit from orthodontic treatment?

Orthodontic treatment can be successful at almost any age. In fact, about one in every five orthodontic patients today is over age 18. Thanks to today’s smaller, less visible, more comfortable orthodontic appliances including ceramic (tooth colored) brackets and clear aligners, adults are finding treatment more appealing.

Clear Aligners

In addition to traditional braces, we are proud to offer clear aligners, which uses the latest technology to correct the positioning of misaligned teeth without braces. Clear aligners consist of a series of clear, custom fit, removable aligners that apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, causing them to straighten. As the name indicates, the trays are practically invisible, making it a more discreet way to get beautiful and healthy straight teeth.
Clear aligners work by using a series of custom-fit aligners that will move your teeth gradually until the end result is achieved. Each aligner is worn for two weeks, and then you will switch into a new one. Throughout the process, you will visit Dr. Clauss every four to six weeks to ensure treatment is progressing as planned. Once your treatment is complete, you will likely wear a clear retainer to ensure your new smile stays in place.
